“What a lovely little cottage, everything was as described and more. Plenty of character and a comfy place to rest your head after some beautiful coastal walks!.. We had such a great weekend! Hopefully we will be back for a summer visit!”

Tinner's Barn is a lovely, cosy, granite barn conversion full of character and tucked away in the centre of the pretty town of St Just right on the edge of the Atlantic. It’s the perfect bolthole for two and ideally suited for those wanting to explore this beautiful and magical corner of Cornwall and it's only 15 minutes’ walk from the South West Coastal path.

The whole town of St Just is a UNESCO world heritage site and surrounded by wild moors and dramatic coastline. If feeling energetic try exploring the stunning Tinner’s Way running along the coast from Cape Cornwall all the way to St Ives. It’s an ancient route from the Bronze Age and where the tin and copper ore were transported along the way from St Just to Hayle

St Just is a friendly town that feels lost in time with an array of great local shops, a deli, a butcher, four pubs and a small local supermarket for your everyday needs. Surrounding the town are the most spectacular stretches of coastline and fantastic walks from the doorstep. Sennen with its glorious surfing beach is ten minutes away as is Potheras, a hidden and stunning local’s cove. Travelling further east within twenty minutes you can be in Marazion with its fabulous beach overlooking the famous St Michaels Mount, St Ives, Mousehole and Penzance.

Walking in through the door you enter the cosy open-plan living area. It's a gorgeous space, perfectly furnished with comfort and relaxation at the forefront. Sink into the armchairs, get the wood burner on and cosy up in front of the fire after a day of exploring the Far West.

cooking & eating

The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking a feast. You could prepare anything from a round of toast to a Sunday roast. Dine in the bijou sitting area with easy chairs in front of the fire, or use the pull-out table and set a romantic dinner for two.

The gorgeous bedroom is on the upper floor, with a comfortable double bed and en suite shower room. You are guaranteed a restful night in this airy, calming room.

There is a modern en suite shower room. Towels and bedding are provided for you, just remember to bring your own beach towels.

The door in the living area leads you to the sweet, fully enclosed, private garden. There's a table and chairs perfect for taking breakfast al fresco or enjoying a cream tea in the afternoon sun.

PARKING: There's plenty of free parking in St Just and the towns free main car park is only a minute or two away.

WI-FI: There is free Wi-Fi at Tinner’s Barn. As always this far West distances to the exchange and weather can slow things up and it can occasionally go down. There is reasonable 3/4G on most networks for checking emails if this happens.

HEATING: There is an electric heater in the sitting room which is simple to use and works well. The wood burner keeps the place toasty.

PETS: Far West Cornwall is doggie heaven! There’s plenty of beaches and coast paths for exploring. One well-behaved dog is welcome at £35 per week/short break. Please make sure they stay out of bedrooms and off the furniture and that you rub down muddy/sandy feet before they come in.

LINEN & TOWELS: You'll have bedding & towels but please bring your own beach towels.

ACCESSIBILITY: You can’t park outside but you can get close to drop off. The bedroom is on the first floor with steep stairs up so may not be suitable for those with limited mobility but always check with us first.

This property is not wheelchair friendly and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. If this applies, please contact our booking office to discuss the properties potential suitability prior to confirming.

CHANGEOVER & SHORT BREAKS: Short breaks are available throughout the year, for a minimum of 3 nights with flexible changeover days. Do check with us if your dates don't quite fit as we will always try to help.

"My husband and I visited The Barn with our dog and stayed for a week. We cooked most nights and the kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed the log burner and patio spaces. St Just itself is really quaint, relaxed and lovely. There’s a wonderful ice cream shop - Moomaids that must be visited! Also great for coffee. It has quick access to loads of beaches and walks by car and some great places to eat locally. Would definitely come back and stay here."
