NEW FORGE, GWENVER

Enjoy great country views from the huge bed upstairs listening to the distant sound of the sea. New Forge is away from it all providing comfort and space for a romantic escape, or a family holiday at any time of year.
Built in 2010, the architect's brief for New Forge was to create a quietly luxurious family home where everyone can be together, yet have their own private space. The thoughtfully styled and beautifully furnished open living and dining areas are spacious and homely and the kitchen. It is all about comfort here, throughout the year, with an impressive library of books, reflecting its owners' love of design to inspire the designer in you.
Sleeping four, plus one, the secret third bedroom has proven an instant hit with children and has been christened The Cabin.
Perfectly located in the quiet and secluded hamlet of Tregiffian, a ten-minute walk to Gwenver beach, New Forge is private and away from it all, yet places are within easy reach for exploring further afield. With so many attractions in the Far West it is a great place to explore from and return to.
This cottage is just a short walk from the beautiful surfing beach of Gwenver, which is a quieter beach around the corner from popular Sennen Cove. The busy towns of St Ives and Penzance are both a short drive, and some of the best beaches in the country are nearby.
It's designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and makes an amazing location for family holidays or romantic breaks all year round.
The mining areas of Cornwall are UNESCO World Heritage sites and offer an insight into the life of our ancestors.
This countryside inspired such authors as Daphne Dumorier, Rosemund Pilcher and more recently Patrick Gale. The art colonies nearby are famous from such greats as Barbara Helpworth, Stanhope Forbes and even Mark Rothko.

Zena – June 2023
“We loved our stay at the New Forge, the barn was spacious, and light, perfect for a family of four. The large dining table was great for board games! The cottage was toasty warm with under floor heating and we bought logs for the wood burner to take the chill off the very bad days of weather. Plenty of hot water! The barn was well equipped with everything we needed. The separate seating areas in the garden provided sun traps for different times of the day, despite the pretty horrible weather, we still managed to enjoy the outdoor space. The barn is surrounded by connecting footpaths, which made walking so easy. The children also loved being able to walk to Gwynver beach 15 mins away. There was also great cycling from the cottage, with only a very small section on the main road. We had a fabulous week walking, cycling and beach hopping when the weather allowed!”
