"We highly recommend Myn Tea. It is a converted barn with a well appointed upstairs living area with fantastic views of the sea and two comfortable downstairs bedrooms. There is a very nice garden for barbecues and outside dining and it is a short walk down to Gwenver Beach. The friendly team at Cornish Way also provide a great service. The property was in immaculate condition and they were quick to respond to any queries."

"Myn Tea, Gwenver"

On the edge of the small hamlet of Tregiffian, above Gwenver Beach, is the most romantic cottage that has it all. Stunning views out across the big blue sea to the Longships Lighthouse and beyond to the Scilly Isles on a clear day, the balcony provides the ideal place for sundowners to take in this view. With a charming garden and large, comfortable social indoor space it is perfect for a romantic retreat or a family holiday throughout the year.

Filled with light by day, you'll want to stay here your whole holiday. In fact several guests have come back in winter to take a month over a project, to write, paint or to indulge in the luxury of reflection.

Perfectly located in the quiet and secluded hamlet of Tregiffian, a ten minute walk to Gwenver beach, Myn Tea is private and away from it all, yet places are within easy reach for exploring further afield. With so many attractions in the Far West it is a great place to explore from and return to.

This cottage is just a short walk from the beautiful surfing beach of Gwenver, which is a quieter beach around the corner from popular Sennen Cove. The busy towns of St Ives and Penzance are both a short drive, and some of the best beaches in the country are nearby.

It's designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and makes an amazing location for family holidays or romantic breaks all year round.

The mining areas of Cornwall are UNESCO World Heritage sites and offer an insight into the life of our ancestors.

This countryside inspired such authors as Daphne Dumorier, Rosemund Pilcher and more recently Patrick Gale. The art colonies nearby are famous from such greats as Barbara Helpworth, Stanhope Forbes and even Mark Rothko.

Myn Tea was designed to optimse the social space. Its 38 foot long upstairs living, dining, and kitchen area is filled with light and offers captivating views across the fields and out to sea. A reverse living cottage the living space is on the first floor with the bedrooms and bathroom on the ground floor.

Comfort is important to us, and here you'll find two big sofas to sink back into. The sweetest wood burner will make autumn and winter nights something to look forward to, while the big balcony is the perfect place for a sundowner at the end of an exciting day of exploration.

cooking & eating

Great holidays are so often about eating well, and that can be in the pubs and restaurants and cooking up a storm at home. At Myn Tea aspiring chefs can have the fun of a well equipped kitchen while staying in touch with family and friends in the open plan space.

Both bedrooms are on the ground floor and the master bedroom has a super comfortable king size bed where you can just about see the sea while having your morning cup of tea. Double doors open out to the garden. The second bedroom has two singles which can be made up as a king on request.

Myn Tea has a small family bathroom with a shower over the bath on the ground floor.

Myn Tea has an interesting enclosed garden with plenty of seating, and a fire pit for taking the chill off those summer evenings when it's just too good to go inside.

useful to know...

PARKING: There's plenty of parking available.

WI-FI: is freely available.

HEATING: Myn Tea has oil fired central heating, but its draw is Edna the gorgeous  wood burner that makes a winter stay even more tempting.

PETS: Far West Cornwall is doggie heaven! There’s plenty of beaches and coast paths for exploring. One well-behaved dog is welcome at £35 per week/short break. Please make sure they stay out of bedrooms and off the furniture and that you rub down muddy/sandy feet before they come in. Gwenver beach is dog friendly all year.

LINEN & TOWELS: You'll have bedding & towels but please bring your own beach towels.

ACCESSIBILITY: The road leading to the barn is quite rutted. You will need to drive very slowly and would not be suitable for low slung vehicles. Parking is right outside the house. The bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs with a small step in through the front door and an internal flight of stairs leads you to to the kitchen and living area, so it's probably not suitable for those with limited mobility but always check with us first.

CHANGEOVER DAY & SHORT BREAKS: Myn Tea usually changes on a Friday. Short breaks are available for a minimum of three nights. Do check with us if your dates don't quite fit as we will always try to help.

What guests are saying...

"We have just spent two wonderful weeks at Myn Tea which is sat up on the cliff top with the most amazing views of Sennen Cove and the lighthouse beyond. We could have spent the whole two weeks sitting on the balcony admiring the view. However we managed to drag ourselves away and spent a lovely couple of evenings sipping sundowners at Sennen Cove's fabulous beach bar. We loved everything about Myn Tea and especially the amazing walks right from the door!

"The Cornish Way were a pleasure to deal with and would highly recommend. A lovely property, thoughtfully laid out, large and comfortable living space with lovely views out to sea From indoors and from the adjoining terrace. Beds were comfy, garden nicely designed and sheltered. Easy walking distance to a beautiful and fairly quiet beach. Walks in every direction from the door. It felt remote but was equally very conveniently located. Can thoroughly recommend."

"Stylish property with wonderful views from the large 1st floor kitchen/diner/lounge out to to the Scilly Isles on a clear day. Very clean and well equipped with secluded sunny garden, barbeque and outdoor seating. Great location about 10-15 minutes walk down minor road and footpath to Gwynver beach, with coastal footpath on to Sennen about another 30 minutes walk. Highly recommend Smart Surf School in Sennen for surfing lessons."

"We spent a relaxing few days at Men-Tea Cottage in early March. The weather was a gamble but the cottage was beautifully equipped, comfortable and warm so when the weather drove us inside, we were quite happy. Wonderful views from the balcony when the sun shone, and being able to take the dog for long walks directly from the door was just what we wanted. Sebastian listened to all our requirements and found a cottage which suited us perfectly"
