LILLIE'S LOOKOUT, ST JUST

Lillie's Lookout was built for the owners' granddaughter to come from Australia and live in for a year. You'll love the full kitchen and small bathroom. Despite being only 30 meters square there's plenty of living space for two and you'll have an outside area with seating and barbecue.

Lillie's offers simple comfortable accommodation. When I first walked in I was immediately excited and wanted to stay.

Apart from looking great, its biggest draw is the location. No Go By is too small to be called a hamlet; just outside of Botallack. It's off the beaten track, yet you can walk to the cliffs in minutes. The centre of bustling little St Just with its pubs and cafes is a ten-minute walk, and the Queen's Arms in Botallack is even closer. The wild moors of Carnyorth Common are just behind the cabin.

LIVING

One room living is surprisingly sociable and compelling. You can chat while you cook, share plans and stories while one of you lounges in the bath, or both crash out on the sofa.

The full-sized kitchen is well equipped, there's plenty of dining space at the table, or the breakfast bar, and the sofa is big enough to sit apart on, or snuggle up.

SLEEPING

The bed deck has a double bed, and a great mattress that you'll love after a day in the fresh air of the far west.

BATHING

The small but ample bath is a comfortable place to soak away and the shower over the bath with constant hot water is perfect after a day on the beach or walking the cliffs.

OUTSIDE

Lillie's Lookout has been built in the corner of the owner's vast garden, they've even fenced it off so that you have your own private garden to sit out in, barbecue, or to just enjoy the far-reaching views. As I sit here in the garden writing today, I can see the Scilly Isles 30 miles away and Poldark's Wheal Leisure (actually Wheal Owles) down the road. And even better - no one can see me!

WHAT GUESTS ARE SAYING...

“Wow where do I even start. Lilly's Lookout was a dream, one I never wanted to leave. This location, the cabin, everything was perfect. The owners anticipate your every need with what is available in the cabin. We booked for the long Easter weekend and were treated with wine, hot cross buns and even an Easter egg. It really was special. John and Di were lovely and really made it a memorable experience. I highly recommend booking this cabin, close enough to all the sights but coming home to a little slice of paradise at the end of the day is just what was needed. Day trips out and then evening walks to watch the sunsets from the Botallack mines, pure bliss. Thank you”

Kenneth – April 2026

“An ideal and peaceful base for a couple who will enjoy exploring the beautiful area - coast, mines, moor, villages and so much more. Close to all of that, walking distance to pub and St Just. Comfortable and cosy for days in if it's too cold or wet; sea and sunset view from inside or outdoor seating if it's warm. Both the Cornish Way and John & Diane (the owners on site) are really helpful. So friendly and welcoming. Absolutely fantastic in every respect.”

Mark – March 2026

“Lillie's Lookout was exceptional value for money. It is a cabin placed in the grounds of the owner’s land but is completely self-contained and far enough away to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but near enough to feel safe and reassured. It was very comfortable and warm also, with a well-stocked kitchen and fantastic views over the countryside towards the sea - lovely views to wake up to at 6am with the curtains open. As a solo traveller/walker it was superb. The cabin is approximately 12-15 mins walk to the centre of St Just but the wonderfully welcoming Rugby Club is just a 6-7 minute away and the locals were very hospitable and chatty to me as a lone female, and I felt very safe and well watered there! At very reasonable prices too! If you are looking for an affordable bolt hole, I highly recommend!”

Collette – February 2026
