"We loved our stay at the Farmhouse. It’s a beautiful cottage, with stylish interiors, lots of space to just chill or have those cosy family dinners. Also the views from bedrooms are amazing - glistening sea and sun setting over a horizon, makes you want to sit there and daydream! Location wise we took a stroll down to Sennen Cove beach which is beautiful, and the walk was lovely! Finally, little touches on our arrival, Nespresso coffee pods and all of our online food shopping accepted and neatly stored in its places - made us want to plan another holiday at this gorgeous farmhouse some time soon ☺️ Highly recommend!"

WHERE IT IS

Manor Farm, Escalls

This wonderfully laid back farmhouse has been refurbished with effortless style and is set in a small hamlet moments from some of the most stunning scenery in West Cornwall. Offering a great escape for couples or larger families Manor Farm is all about kicking back and taking life easy.


This generous detached farmhouse is under ten minutes walk to the dog friendly surf beach at Gwenver, or a slightly longer walk or short drive to the popular Sennen Cove.  Whether you want relax, check out the interesting art, read, or just sit back and dream Manor Farm is the ideal location.

Location

Escalls is a small hamlet ideally located between Sennen Cove and Gwenver beaches.

Swim, surf, walk the coast, or simply find a sheltered spot to sit and contemplate the beauty - you'll be spoilt for choice here.

You're only a few miles from Land's End, and it's certainly worth walking there to see the dramatic cliffs and remains of ancient civilisations.

The famous pubs The Old Success and The First and Last are both less than half an hour's walk (or a couple of minutes in the car), as are the cafes in the cove and Ben Tunnicliffe's beach restaurant.

Many of our guests have been coming back to the immediate area for decades, and as we never tire of it we can understand why.

Living

Arriving you walk through the french doors into the kitchen which flows through double doors to the spacious lounge. What a space with original granite flagstones, high ceilings and a great wood burner you'll want to kick back and relax in a way that rarely happens at home. With plentiful sofas and easy chairs to chill on or catch a movie, there’s loads of choice over places to sit and things to do. There's a desk for study, or researching the next days adventures and doors lead out to both the garden and courtyard. 

Cooking

You'll often hear the term "farmhouse kitchen" - well, here it's for real. The kitchen is centred around a large Loaf farm table that seats up to 8. There is love seat sofa, a range cooker with modern induction hob, fridge freezer, washing machine and a dishwasher too. There's even another wood burning stove. This is the true hub of the home.  


Sleeping

At The Cornish Way we're out in the fresh air as often as we can be, and perhaps that's why we so love a great night's sleep. All the wonderful beds and linen at Manor Farm were new in 2017 and were chosen to offer a great sleep.
The master bedroom has a king sized bed (and an en-suite with roll top bath!). Two further large bedrooms both have zip and link beds that transform from twin beds into superkings for the ultimate couples' luxurious sleeping space.
Every bedroom has an engaging view, one over the countryside, and the other two over countryside, stripes of fields, ocean and skies.


Bathing

The master bedroom has an en suite with roll top bath, and a picture window with views across the countryside.
The family bathroom has a cast iron roll top bath with a shower over with curtains. We may not love shower curtains, but you certainly get a great drench from this one. The suite with high level flush, bidet (cold only) and sink are old but sturdy, and the towel rail is an ingenious contraption of copper pipes. See photos to get the picture.

Outside

The garden is off the sitting room and kitchen and extends round the side of the house. There's a small lawn with deck and outside seating. Its a perfect spot for summer BBQ's after a day on the beach. What would have originally been the front of the farmhouse is now a large courtyard shared with The Piggery opposite.

WI-FI: Manor Farm is equipped with wi-fi although in Cornwall it can be a bit slow!
PARKING: There's parking for two cars outside the rear garage
