Perched high above the rugged cliffs in Cape Cornwall, The Hayloft offers breathtaking views over the wild Atlantic Ocean – the perfect backdrop for a peaceful getaway. From morning coffee to sunset wine, you can sit and watch the ever-changing waves roll in, surrounded by the beauty of Cornwall’s dramatic coastline.

A charming hideaway full of character, The Hayloft is reached via a steep set of outdoor steps — so do take your time. Once inside, you’ll find two comfortable bedrooms, a stylish family shower room, and an open-plan kitchen, sitting and dining area designed for easy, relaxed living. The Hayloft is dog-friendly too, so your four-legged friend can join in on the Cornish adventure.


LOCATION

Set right on the South West Coast Path, this is the ideal base for exploring Cornwall’s breath-taking coastal scenery so don’t forget to pack your walking boots! The Hayloft is located next door to Cape Cornwall Golf Club. If you fancy a round of golf bring your clubs and enjoy a round before unwinding on the terrace, taking in the sea views over a leisurely meal or a Cornish cream tea — and don’t forget, it’s jam first in Cornwall.

The vibrant market town of St Just is just a short drive away, filled with independent cafés, galleries, and local character. Sennen with its glorious surfing beach is a short drive away and Portheras, a hidden and stunning locals cove is only ten minutes’ drive past Pendeen travelling east. Travelling further east within twenty minutes you can be in Marazion with its fabulous beach overlooking the famous St Michaels Mount, St Ives, Mousehole and Penzance.


LIVING

The spacious living area really is the hub of this home with amazing views from the large feature window. It's open-planned and flooded with natural light with two comfy sofas and a dining area with a table and four chairs. At the end of a day spent exploring, sink into the lovely squishy sofas and switch on the TV and relax in front of a film, or just simply watch the world go by gazing out to sea.


COOKING & EATING

If you choose to eat in you won’t be disappointed in this well-equipped galley style kitchen. Cook up a feast and enjoy it from the dining table, with the ever-changing backdrop of the sea and the sky. There is a microwave, oven and hob, a dishwasher, washing machine, full size fridge and a full size freezer.


SLEEPING

The Hay Loft has two bedrooms- 

MASTER BEDROOM: A beautifully furnished space. You’ll sleep soundly in its king size bed with pocket-sprung mattress. 

SECOND BEDROOM: is a peaceful room with two single beds. 


BATHING

The shower room has a large shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail. We’ll supply fluffy bath towels, just remember to bring your own beach towels.


OUTSIDE

You can access the gorgeous Mediterranean inspired patio area from the parking area. It’s an enclosed, private, south facing space with a table and four chairs which is a fantastic spot to sit with a cup of tea and good book. There is also a handy washing line and BBQ.


MORE INFORMATION


  • PARKING: There is free parking for one car in front of The Hayloft.
  • WI-FI:  means you can stay connected to the outside world. 
  • TV:  You watch TV via the internet using the built-in smart apps to watch iPlayer or Netflix etc.
  • HEATING: electric central heating and hot water will keep you toasty throughout the cooler months.
  • PETS: Far West Cornwall is doggie heaven! There’s plenty of beaches and coast paths for exploring. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome at £35 each per week/short break (other pets such as cats are not permitted unless agreed on request). Please make sure they stay out of bedrooms and off the furniture and that you rub down muddy/sandy feet before they come in.
  • PET ALLERGIES: This is a dog friendly property in a rural location and unlikely to be suitable if you suffer pet allergies.

  • OTHER ALLERGIES: If you or any member of the party suffer any kind of allergy (such as dust or food) please let us know before booking so we can advise both the suitability of the property and what feasible measures are possible to mitigate the issue such as adapting any welcome pack contents.
  • LINEN & TOWELS: You'll have bedding & towels but please bring your own beach towels.
  • ACCESSIBILITY: The road leading to the cottage can get quite busy as you drive past Cape Cornwall Golf Club and through their car park. You will pass golfers walking along this road so always drive very slowly and take care.  The parking at The Hayloft is quite tight, and we recommend reverse parking into the parking space. The external staircase leading up to the front door is very steep and narrow as you get to the top, this means it won't be suitable to those with limited mobility or young children. Please feel free to call us to discuss any questions you may have prior to booking. 
  • This property is not wheelchair friendly due to the steep external stairs leading up to the apartment.
  • CHANGEOVER DAY: Changeover is usually Friday. Short breaks are available for a minimum of three nights with flexible changeover days. Do check with us if your dates don't quite fit as we will always try to help.
  • PROPERTY IMAGES AND DESCRIPTIONS: From time to time minor upgrades and improvements and changes to furnishings at The property may mean it varies slightly from the images and descriptions on the Website.
  • MAP LOCATION: Although very close the map marker's location is approximate to the property. Do let us know if you need more specific details.

  • The Hayloft won't be suitable to those with limited mobility or young children as the external staircase leading up to the front door is very steep and narrow as you get to the top. 
  • If travelling later and arriving in the dark do familiarise yourself with the directions before leaving. With limited phone signal in the area also ensure you download all directions before hand.
