EDEN COTTAGE, NEWLYN
NEW FOR 2025!
Eden Cottage is as pretty as a picture-and we have all fallen just a little bit in love with this cosy, dog friendly terraced two-bedroom cottage.
Tucked away in the heart of Newlyn, this characterful cottage is the perfect coastal retreat for families, couples, or even solo travellers seeking a touch of seaside charm.
Eden Cottage is a typical Cornish cottage and is set over three floors. The owners have lovingly refurbished with comfort in mind and thought of everything to make your stay as relaxing as possible.
Arrive and walk along the little cobbled path to the front door and your straight into the open plan living and dining room which flows through to the George Robinson hand made galley kitchen. There is a handy utility area (with a washer/drier) beyond here which leads out onto a sunny private patio -it's the perfect spot for a leisurely breakfast before exploring.
Set across three floors, Eden Cottage offers comfortable and flexible accommodation. Take the wooden stairs up to the first floor where you'll find a spacious master bedroom, alongside a bright twin room with two single beds – ideal for younger guests or friends sharing. There is also a family shower room, complete with stylish fittings and a calming vibe that adds a little luxury to your stay.
A wooden step ladder (please take care) leads you up to the attic room – a peaceful hideaway complete with two poufees and a handy desk space for those who may need to work remotely during their stay. The Velux windows open wide to welcome in fresh sea air and offer a lovely glimpse of the sea – a little reminder that the coast is never far away.
LOCATION
Eden Cottage is located in the heart of the famous fishing port of Newlyn and is a great base for a Cornish escape. It remains one of the biggest fishing fleets in the UK and as such gives a unique insight into a proper Cornish fishing port. You can buy fish and seafood straight from the boats, or from one of the many fishmongers along the quay. Its streets are quaint and have many old cottages crammed down traffic free lanes, but it's the port that gives it its character.
The art deco town of Penzance is a fifteen-minute stroll along the seafront promenade where you will find a bustling town and busy harbour. If you fancy a day out with a difference, the daily Scillonian ferry to the Isles of Scilly leaves from here but you do need to plan ahead and purchase a ticket in advance.
The impossibly quaint village of Mousehole is within walking distance. It’s only a mile and a half away and a stunning walk along the coastal road. Alternatively, there is a bus stop by the St Peter’s Hill car park, where you can catch a bus to Mousehole or continue round to the lovely sandy beach of Porthcurno.
Mousehole harbour lights are perhaps the most famous attraction, when thousands of people flock each year to see the village illuminated by Christmas lights. Its origins date back as far as the 12th century when it was the main fishing port in Mounts Bay, and much of its old-world charm has remained. You can feel the history when you stroll around its higgledy-piggledy lanes.
In this area of West Cornwall, we are totally spoilt for beaches. Sennen Cove with its glorious surfing, Marazion overlooking St Michaels Mount and Porthcurno with the iconic Minack Theatre built into the cliffs are all within easy reach. Slightly further is St Ives, home to the Tate St Ives Gallery, the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden, several fantastic beaches and plenty of shops and restaurants. It’s well worth a visit and we recommend taking the little train from St Erth, which travels along the coast right into the town. It’s breath-taking.
LIVING
The sitting and dining room is a bright and inviting space designed for comfort and ease. A large sofa and armchair offer the perfect spot to relax after a day out, with cushions and warm lighting creating a calm, homely feel. The dining area sits just beside, with a table and four chairs ideal for leisurely breakfasts or relaxed evening meals. Neutral tones and simple touches give the room a clean, uncluttered charm, making it a lovely place to unwind and spend time together.

WHAT GUESTS ARE SAYING...
“Lovely cottage that’s been done beautifully and with real care - definitely felt like a home that someone loves. Really will appointed with a great kitchen and bathroom and comfy beds. Location was brilliant - easy walk into the centre of Newlyn, and it’s right next to a public car park where we were able to get a space even during the busy August bank holiday. Definitely one of the best holiday cottages we’ve stayed in in Cornwall - and we’ve started in a lot!”
