A breath-taking detached barn conversion where modern luxury and rustic charm intertwine to create an absolutely stunning retreat. Painstakingly refurbished with comfort and style in mind Skyber is set in magical countryside close to both coasts. For added luxury there is a separate sauna off the terrace with a wood fired hot tub beyond positioned to take in the glorious valley views.

Step inside, and you’re greeted by a haven of style and serenity. It's a thoughtfully designed space and at the heart of the home is the large open plan living space with bi fold doors out onto the private terrace. The handcrafted George Robinson kitchen is a delight for keen cooks and flows into a bright dining area. Whether it’s a leisurely breakfast or a laid back supper, every meal will feel special here. The cosy lounge invites you to sink into a large corner sofa by the warmth of the wood burner—perfect for unwinding after a day exploring the coast.

The barn sleeps six guests across three beautifully styled bedrooms, each dressed in soft linens and calming tones. The master suite boasts a private en-suite, while the two additional bedrooms share a spa-like bathroom featuring a deep, freestanding bath for blissful relaxation.

Outside, Skyber’s private paradise awaits. The sun-drenched terrace offers chic seating and an alfresco kitchen. There's a separate sauna room, while the wood-fired hot tub is positioned to take in the stunning valley views. From the garden a gate gives access (With steep paths and a pond NO children permitted unless supervised by a responsible adult) to meandering paths leading down through lush gardens to a peaceful lake, where birdsong and the sounds of nature create a tranquil escape.

Tucked away down a private lane in the heart of west Cornwall Skyber is a great base to explore the delights of the far west of Cornwall. It’s a short drive from Porthcurno and the awe-inspiring Minack Theatre. The golden sands and surfing at Sennen beach as well as the charming harbours of Mousehole and Newlyn are also all in close driving distance.

This idyllic retreat is perfectly placed for those seeking the magic of Cornwall’s coastline. Welcoming six lucky guests and their four-legged companions, Skyber is a place to unwind, reconnect, and soak up the beauty of wild Cornwall in absolute comfort.


LOCATION

Located via a private lane shared with just a few other properties Skyber is nestled deep in the countryside. Set on the very outskirts of the village of St Buryan where you're a short drive from the stunning beach of Porthcurno and the iconic Minack Theatre. A little further along the coast you come to Pedn Vounder, an extraordinary beach voted in the top 50 in the world by the Sunday Times. Located away from it all but only a short journey to some of the best the Far West of Cornwall has to offer, you’re only 10 minutes by car to the amazing Sennen and Gwenver beaches or 15 minutes to Newlyn harbour for some of the freshest seafood there is. The Logan Rock Inn at Treen is a five-minute drive, or a twenty-minute cliff walk for the more adventurous!


LIVING

Spend snug afternoons and cosy evenings in the living area, complete with a Smart TV for family film nights and a beautiful wood burner for those chillier evenings. Wooden beams and Tom Raffield ceiling lights offer a Scandi inspired ambience to this decadent retreat. Unwind and get lost in your book on the soft corner sofa or watch the sun set in comfort. Wherever you settle yourself, relax in comfort as fireside luxury has never been so homely!


COOKING & EATING

Step into this fabulous bespoke kitchen, a true haven for food lovers and home chefs alike. Designed with both style and practicality in mind, this stunning space is brimming with charm and modern convenience. Marble work tops provide plenty of room to prep delicious feasts, while top-of-the-line appliances—including a sleek fridge freezer, full-size dishwasher, state-of-the-art oven, and responsive hob—make cooking an absolute dream. Whether you're whipping up a quick breakfast or crafting a gourmet masterpiece, this kitchen is sure to inspire.


SLEEPING

Master bedroom - The dreamy master super-king bedroom is located off the kitchen and up three oak steps it has an en suite shower room and makes for a very restful stay. 

You'll find two further bedrooms at the other far end of the barn. 

Bedroom two - boasts a luxuriously soft king-size bed, dressed in crisp linens and plush pillows, inviting you to sink in and drift off into pure relaxation. 

Bedroom three - offers wonderful flexibility, featuring a zip-and-link bed that can be set up as a sumptuous king or two perfectly cosy singles—ideal for families, friends, or anyone who loves options! 

With warm, soothing décor and an ambiance designed for comfort, these three restful retreats promise a blissful stay.


BATHING

At Skyber, bathing becomes a blissful ritual rather than just a routine. 

The master bedroom boasts a spacious en-suite shower room, where warm water cascades in a luxurious embrace, washing away the cares of the day. 

Meanwhile, at the far end of the barn, the family bathroom awaits—a true sanctuary of relaxation. Step into the walk-in shower for an invigorating start to your morning, or sink into the deep, freestanding bath. Here, every soak is a moment of pure indulgence. 

Nestled within the serene sauna space there is a separate shower room.  Designed for both comfort and indulgence, this beautifully finished retreat offers a refreshing cascade of warm water, perfect for cooling off after a sauna session or rinsing away the day’s adventures.

 

OUTSIDE

Skyber overlooks the breath-taking Penberth valley, and our outdoor space is designed for pure relaxation and indulgence. 

Slide back the doors from the living space onto the expansive patio, where the scent of sizzling delights drifts from the outdoor BBQ kitchen—perfect for al fresco feasts under the open sky. Gather the family around the seating area and soak in the sweeping views, as the rolling landscape stretches endlessly before you.

Follow the pathway to a beautifully crafted sauna, where warmth envelops you in bliss, and afterwards, refresh yourself in the invigorating Urban Ice Bath.

And for the ultimate unwind, sink into the wood-fired hot tub, perfectly positioned to capture the mesmerizing valley views in the distance. As the steam rises and the sun sets, let nature’s beauty and serenity wash over you- your own private outdoor spa retreat. 


MORE INFORMATION

  • PARKING: There's plenty of private parking in the driveway outside the barn.
  • WI-FI:  broadband means you can stay connected at Skyber.
  • HEATING: There is an eco friendly bio mass boiler providing wonderful underfloor heating, and of course the large wood burner that will have you wishing for a chilly evening. It makes a winter stay a joy.
  • LITTLE ONES: There is a highchair and stair gate available for your use.
  • PETS: Two well-behaved dogs are welcome at £35 per week/short break. Far West Cornwall is doggie heaven! There’s plenty of beaches and coast paths for exploring. Please make sure they stay out of bedrooms and off the furniture and that you rub down muddy/sandy feet before they come in.
  • PET ALLERGIES: This is a dog friendly property in a rural location and unlikely to be suitable if you suffer pet allergies.
  • OTHER ALLERGIES: If you or any member of the party suffer any kind of allergy (such as dust or food) please let us know before booking so we can advise both the suitability of the property and what feasible measures are possible to mitigate the issue such as adapting any welcome pack contents. 
  • LINEN & TOWELS: You'll have bedding & towels but please bring your own beach towels.
  • UTILITY: There is a tumble drier in the utility area, which is located in the sauna room outside. Next to the WC is another handy utility area where you will find a washing machine, clothes airier, iron and ironing board.
  • SAUNA, ICE BATH AND HOT TUB: These are a great feature of staying at Skyber but please follow the rules. The sauna, ice bath and hot tub MUST NOT be used if you are pregnant. NO children or anyone under the age of 18 are permitted to use either the sauna, ice bath or hot tub.
  • Please ensure you have prior medical consent from your doctor that is is safe to use either the sauna or hot tub. If you have no confirmed health conditions preventing you from safely using the Sauna or hot tub please first familiarise yourself with, and follow fully the safety guides and rules supplied in your welcome folder and any other sauna and hot tub notices displayed prior to using them. 
  • EV Charging: The property includes an on-site EV charger for your stay at £50 per week—if required you can add it to your booking.
  • ACCESSIBILITY: Typical of Cornish barns Skyber has internal stairs throughout with three leading up to the master bedroom so it may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. Outside you have steps (and in some areas there is no hand rail). The outside patios and garden are a doggy paradise however we can't guarantee that this area is totally doggy escape proof, so we recommend keeping a close eye on dogs at all times. If using this area please use caution as there are steep paths and a pond and NO children are permitted unless supervised by a responsible adult.
  • If you are in doubt or have any questions please check with us. 
  • This property is not wheelchair friendly and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility or young children who always need to be supervised by a responsible adult when using the outside areas. If this applies, please contact our booking office to discuss the properties potential suitability prior to confirming.
  • CHANGEOVER DAY: Changeover is usually Friday. Do check with us if your dates don't quite fit as we will always try to help.

USEFUL TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING

  • You are slightly off the beaten track. Perfect for nature lovers looking for a rural escape. However If you are in a car that's your pride and joy be aware Cornish country lanes sometimes involve navigating hedgerows and windy single track lanes.
  • Stepped gardens mean children will need to always be supervised when outside.
  • If travelling in the dark it it is recommend you use What 3 Words and familiarise yourself with the directions before leaving. Also ensure you download all directions before hand in case of patchy phone signal.
  • Sauna, Hot Tub and Ice Bath: These are a great feature of staying at Skyber but please follow the rules. The sauna, ice bath and hot tub must not be used if you are pregnant. And no children or anyone under the age of 18 are permitted to use either the sauna, ice bath or hot tub.

“What an amazing and comfortable stay in a traditional charming house with a modern spin. It was mostly myself and my husband so we were spoilt for space. We had family and a furry friend join us for the weekend who also had a lovely time. The open plan living area, kitchen and dining is the heart of the home providing substantial space with fantastic countryside views. Inside and outside house is equipped with quality appliances and the house was very clean. An array of information is provided ahead of staying & there are helpful guides in the home too which is much appreciated. Beds were prepared as requested and there were more than enough amenities provided, along with a fun range of board games and books. The sauna in the outbuilding with the shower room too is a nice touch, adding to the relaxed luxury feel of Skyber. Overall, Skyber felt like a home away from home and we even wanted to stay longer but as it’s so popular there was another booking right after ours.”
