CHERRY COTTAGE, PENZANCE


Nestled in the charming holiday town of Penzance, this comfortable cottage offers a cosy retreat all year round. Perfect for small families or couples seeking a peaceful getaway, Cherry cottage features modern amenities while retaining its traditional character. Enjoy leisurely walks to nearby beaches or explore Penzance's vibrant art scene and historical sites. 

Cherry Cottage is perfectly positioned if you decide to leave the car behind. All the main transport links are nearby so rest assured you can arrive and explore seamlessly. 


LOCATION

This little cutie is situated on Adelaide Street where you will find Penzance's electric mix of galleries, restaurants and independent shops a two-minute walk away. 

Penzance, located on the southwestern tip of Cornwall, is a charming seaside town known for its stunning coastal scenery and rich history. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque promenades along Mount's Bay, where the iconic St. Michael's Mount can be seen rising dramatically from the sea. The town is also famous for its art scene, featuring venues like the Penlee House Gallery and Museum, showcasing both local artists and the region's history. Nearby, the beautiful landscapes of the Cornish coastline provide excellent opportunities for walking and exploring nature, with the South West Coast Path running close by. The vibrant town centre is filled with a mix of boutique shops, cafes, and restaurants, offering visitors a taste of local Cornish cuisine and culture.

The famous fishing port of Newlyn is 20 minutes’ walk along the seafront promenade, stop and buy some fresh fish from one of the many harbourside shops. The quaint village of Mousehole is only a 10 minutes’ drive away and Marazion, with the famous St. Michael’s Mount, is easy to walk or drive to. St. Ives is easily reached using the scenic rail line from Penzance station. Sennen Cove, The Minack Theatre in Porthcurno, and The Cornish Mining World Heritage Site on the north coast, are all an easy drive away. Many film locations of Winston Graham’s Poldark books are in the area and part of the German TV Rosamunde Pilcher series was filmed right outside the door in Chapel Street.


LIVING

This charming space combines a living and dining area and has been renovated to a good standard and showcases the traditional beams, panelling and floors. The comfortable sofa and armchair are great for relaxing in front of the TV after a day out exploring the coast paths enjoying a long blustery walk.


COOKING & EATING

The galley kitchen is reached via three granite steps leading down from the dining room. It's finished to a great standard with an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, integrated under-the-counter fridge with freezer compartment, a slim integrated dishwasher and washing machine. 


SLEEPING

MASTER BEDROOM: A comfortable king bed with bedside tables, a chest of drawers, and a handy built in cupboard/wardrobe.

SECOND BEDROOM: A delightful twin bedroom with bedside tables, lamp and a small wardrobe. 


BATHING

The family shower room is located next to the kitchen on the ground floor. There’s a large walk-in shower perfect for washing away sandy and salt after a day on the beach, basin and WC. There is also a gas heated towel rail which keeps towels warm and fluffy. 


OUTSIDE

At the rear of the cottage is a sweet enclosed private courtyard with a bistro table and chairs, perfect for dining al fresco or enjoying a cream tea in the afternoon sun. . The courtyard is tiered and three steps lead down to the bottom level. There is also a handy outside shed where you can store bikes and surfboards. The gate leads out onto an alley way, turn right and  follow the alley way down to the end and you will find yourself at the bottom of Adelaide Street.

  • PARKING: You can pull up outside to unload and there are several car parks close by.
  • WI-FI: Unlimited broadband means you can stay connected at Cherry Cottage. 
  • HEATING: Gas central heating. 

  • PETS: Far West Cornwall is doggie heaven! There’s plenty of beaches and coast paths for exploring. One well-behaved dog is welcome at £35 per week/short break. Please make sure they stay out of bedrooms and off the furniture and that you rub down muddy/sandy feet before they come in.
  • PET ALLERGIES: This is a dog friendly property in a rural location and unlikely to be suitable if you suffer pet allergies.
  • OTHER ALLERGIES: If you or any member of the party suffer any kind of allergy (such as dust or food) please let us know before booking so we can advise both the suitability of the property and what feasible measures are possible to mitigate the issue such as adapting any welcome pack contents. 
  • LINEN & TOWELS: You'll have bedding & towels but please bring your own beach towels.
  • UTILITY: The kitchen houses a washing machine. There is also an aired, iron and ironing board.
  • CHILDREN: Due to the low landing balustrade Cherry Cottage is not suitable for children under the age of ten.
  • ACCESSIBILITY: Please review the floorplan in the photo gallery to ensure the property layout suits your needs. Typical of Cornish cottages there are narrow, steep wooden stairs leading up to the first floor means it' may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. And due to the low landing balustrade Cherry Cottage is not suitable for children under the age of ten. . Always contact us prior to booking if you have any questions or concerns on accessibility and child restrictions. 
  • This property is not wheelchair friendly and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. If this applies, please contact our booking office to discuss the properties potential suitability prior to confirming.
  • CHANGEOVER & SHORT BREAKS: Changeover days are usually flexible with short breaks are available for a minimum of three nights all year round. 'Just for Two' discounts are also available out of season. Do check with us if your dates don't quite fit as we will always try to help.
  • PROPERTY IMAGES AND DESCRIPTIONS: From time-to-time minor upgrades and improvements and changes to furnishings at the property may mean it varies slightly from the images and descriptions on the website.

Parking was easier in the nearby public car park (we paid for the whole week so never had to worry) and it was easy to park up on the street to unload when we arrived. The cottage itself was spotless on arrival and exactly as described. Immediately felt like home and we didn't want to leave! Plenty of space for us, our two children and even the dog! We had a brilliant week exploring this area of Cornwall, from St Michael's Mount to St Ives, from Mousehole to Land's End. Plenty to see and do in Penzance too, including fishing trips, pubs galore and some lovely independent shops. A brilliant holiday in a stunning part of the country. We loved it!”
