SWALLOW, GWENVER

This lovely two-bedroom converted barn is a real home-from-home with countryside views in an idyllic location. Open the doors and you instantly feel relaxed in this quiet rural hamlet in an area of outstanding natural beauty high above Gwenver beach. It’s a ten-minute walk down to one of West Cornwall's most stunning beaches with some of the best surfing in Cornwall and with Sennen Cove nearby you are spoilt for choice. Providing comfort and space, Swallow is the ideal location for an escape for two or family holidays at any time of the year.

Entering into the sociable and homely open plan dining area to the front and kitchen to the rear of the barn, you can make the most of the open space that leads out to the garden at the back through the stable door. Your four-legged friends will be in their element if you choose to bring them along with plenty of walks and dog friendly beaches on the door stop.

There are two bedrooms (please see details below), kitchen & dining area and bathroom on the ground floor. With an expansive living room upstairs, there is space for everyone to relax and enjoy being together. The lawned garden has views across the fields and across the valley at the back and there is a bench to the front to enjoy a morning cuppa before heading out for the day. It’s a place to enjoy the best the west has to offer in a rural location, close to the beach and within easy reach of many places to visit during your stay.

LOCATION

Tregiffian Veor is a small, peaceful hamlet of converted farm buildings and cottages next to a small working farm. You are set high above one of West Cornwall's finest beaches, Gwenver and it’s a dramatic area in terms of beauty with some of the most spectacular coastal walks in West Cornwall on your doorstep. Sennen Cove is a short drive away with two great surf schools, beach bar and good local pub. Further afield it's an easy drive to Penzance, Mousehole and St Ives which are all worth a visit. Keen walkers can enjoy the footpath to Cape Cornwall one way and to Land’s End and beyond in the other direction.

LIVING

The stylish spacious living room is on the first floor and it’s the ideal place for relaxing, watching a movie or gathering together to enjoy a board game after a day of exploring. It’s converted from the attic space so watch your head with the characterful low ceiling! There are two comfortable three-seater sofas and a Smart TV.

For working holidays or simply penning a postcard home there’s a desk and chair. Open the Velux windows and breath in the sea air, or gaze over the fields.

COOKING & EATING

The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook up a feast. There’s an electric 4-ring hob, oven and grill, integrated fridge and views over the garden. The breakfast bar makes the kitchen a wonderfully social space, opening onto the dining area. If you’d like a special event catered for, do ask, we have some superb contacts.

SLEEPING

There are two bedrooms on the ground floor.

MASTER BEDROOM: Super comfortable king bed with bedside tables, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe.

SECOND BEDROOM: This bedroom is perfect for children with two sets of bunk beds and views over the garden. (Can sleep 4 children on request - please enquire). There is a chest of drawers and a wardrobe for their essentials.

BATHING

The family bathroom is on the ground floor off the kitchen area and has a shower over the bath, WC and basin. There are two heated towel rails to keep fluffy bath towels toasty.

OUTSIDE

Accessed through the kitchen at the rear of the cottage via the stable door is a lovely garden that enjoys the morning sun. It is an elevated (two feet) lawned garden. It’s a super spot for whiling away the evenings with a sundowner or to enjoy an alfresco breakfast in the morning sun. The outside tap is perfect for washing off muddy dogs and sandy wetsuits.

WHAT GUESTS ARE SAYING...

“We had an amazing week at this lovely place! Everything was well thought through. lots of countryside walks from your doorstep, only 15 minutes’ walk to the nearest sandy beach. The cottage itself is very cosy and has everything needed for a long stay. Very peaceful location with no noise at all except the occasional cow sounds. And I should also mention that it was my husband's working holidays and the WiFi was very fast all the time. Overall, we loved staying there and we would like to come back again next year!”
