ESCAPE, PORTHCURNO
Escape! As the name suggests, it is a perfect getaway tucked away five minutes from the world famous Porthcurno beach. Relaxed and laid back this stylish Scandi-inspired beach house is dog friendly and offers comfortable accommodation with a lovely enclosed garden and a private parking space.
Set in the sleepy coastal village of Porthcurno you're a short walk from the stunning beach and the iconic Minack Theatre. A little further along the coast path you come to Pedn Vounder, an extraordinary beach voted in the top 50 in the world by the Sunday Times. This comfortable home from home is in an incredibly sought-after location and perfectly positioned to explore the west of Cornwall and beyond or simply a great base to enjoy the coastal walks on the doorstep and leave the car.
There are three comfortable bedrooms and the open living, dining and kitchen area makes a fabulous sociable space for families or friends to cook up a feast or cosy up around the wood burner on an evening. Off the living area there is a conservatory with additional living space leading out to the private garden.
LOCATION
Famously known for the Minack Theatre, Porthcurno is home to the entirely unique open-air theatre that’s perched up on the cliffs. With only the breathtaking and ever-changing view of the Atlantic Ocean as its backdrop, this is a truly special spot. From the beach you can even climb up the steps and rocks built into the cliff side, for an amazing panoramic view of the coastline. The beach café serves fantastic cream teas and crab sandwiches. Porthcurno is also famous for the The Porthcurno Telegraph Museum.
Located away from it all but only a short journey to some of the best the Far West of Cornwall has to offer, you’re only 10 minutes by car to the amazing Sennen and Gwenver beaches or 15 minutes to Newlyn harbour for some of the freshest seafood there is. The Logan Rock Inn at Treen is a five-minute drive, or a twenty-minute cliff walk for the more adventurous!
LIVING
The open plan living area leads from the kitchen / dining areas through to the conservatory. It’s a fantastic space, perfectly furnished with comfort and relaxation in mind. The living area has the all-important wood burner to take the chill from a cooler evening and make a winter stay a joy. Sink into the comfortable sofa or armchair, stoke the fire and cosy up after a day of exploring the Far West.
The sunny conservatory is great for relaxed afternoons with a corner sofa. Open the door to the garden and let the outside in while enjoying a holiday read in the sunshine.
The mezzanine room is the perfect place for younger ones to chill out and play games on the floor cushions,

“We had a wonderful week at the cottage - it was perfect for a relaxing week of walking and recharging!”
Gill – October 2025
“Perfect if you’re looking for an easy relaxed home for daily trips to the beach, and a base to visit nearby towns. Peaceful location.”
Vivienne – August 2025
“The house was great; spacious and nicely decorated, good vibes. Clean, beds were good, kitchen very complete and the Internet was fast (you need it as there is no cellular reception). Shower in the bath was a little low pressured, but still ok. Communication with the agency was easy and fast, very responsive. Location was nice, short walk to the beautiful beach, and would recommend the short but quite exciting walk (the last steps over the rocks are not without danger) to the secluded Pedn Vounder Beach (dog friendly as well). Gwynver beach was also very nice (again dog friendly). Kids had a great time on these beaches. We took the B3306 to St. Ives, stunning road! if possible, buy tickets for an evening show at Minack Theatre, unique experience. All in all a great place to explore the far west of Cornwall!”
Pieter-Bob – July 2025
“I had a great stay with my family at Escape. We were able to walk down to Porthcurno beach and we were in easy driving distances to other beautiful beaches and tourist attractions. The house itself was beautiful, like a home from home, we felt very comfortable there with plenty of spaces for chilling out.”
Hilary – July 2025
“We had the best time staying at the Escape. Just a short walk downhill to the most beautiful beach and easy to drive to Lands end, Penzance and St Ives. The accommodation was as described and we felt at home straight away. The Cornish Way were great at communicating and sent clear instructions and information before we arrived making it really easy to find and get in after a long drive down. We will be visiting again for sure!”
