PUFFIN, GWENVER

Enjoy pared down simplicity from this converted barn set in a small hamlet high above Sennen Cove and Gwenver beach. In an area of outstanding natural beauty, it's about a fifteen-minute walk down to Gwenver, one of West Cornwall's most stunning beaches with some of the best surfing in Cornwall.

This is a simple uncluttered space great for couples or small families with one shower room, and two bedrooms on the ground floor. The kitchen and dining area are also on the ground floor and the living room is upstairs.

There are views across the fields from upstairs and if you’re bringing them, your four-legged friend will be in heaven, with fantastic walks from the doorstep and Gwenver beach is dog friendly all year round! With private parking, Wi-Fi and plenty of storage for surfboards, Puffin is a perfect space for a great walking or surfing holiday in an area of amazing raw beauty on the western tip of Cornwall.

LOCATION

Tregiffian Veor is a small, peaceful hamlet of converted farm buildings and cottages next to a small working farm. You are set high above one of West Cornwall's finest beaches, Gwenver and it’s a dramatic area in terms of beauty with some of the most spectacular coastal walks in West Cornwall on your doorstep. Sennen Cove is a short drive away with two great surf schools, beach bar and good local pub. Further afield it's an easy drive to Penzance, Mousehole and St Ives which are all worth a visit.

LIVING

The living room is upstairs and it’s an ideal space for relaxing, watching a movie or gathering together to enjoy a board game. It’s converted from the attic space so watch your head with the characterful low ceilings! There is a three and two seater sofa plus a smart TV (there is no aerial so you can use the smart apps to watch iPlayer or Netflix).

COOKING & EATING

The kitchen has dark coloured cabinets and there’s an electric hob, oven and grill, dishwasher and large fridge freezer. The dining table has four chairs and a bench plus there is a day bed.

SLEEPING

Puffin has two double bedrooms located on the ground floor. Bedroom one on the ground floor has a king size bed and window with captivating views of the garden and fields beyond. The second bedroom on the ground floor has a double size bed and stylish hanging lamps.

BATHING

The bright shower room is the perfect place to unwind after a day at the beach or walking the coast. The downstairs shower room is off the dining room and has a shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail. We’ll supply fluffy bath towels, please remember to bring your own beach towels.

OUTSIDE

At the rear of the cottage, accessed through the kitchen, is a private courtyard garden with a wooden picnic bench.

  • PARKING: There is free parking for one car in the shared front courtyard. Be aware the lane up to Tregiffian may be rough and not suitable for a low-slung sports car. Please drive with caution in bad weather.
  • WI-FI: Super-fast (Up to 60MB) broadband means you can stay connected. There is also phone reception and 4G at the house.

  • PETS: Far West Cornwall is doggie heaven! There’s plenty of beaches and coast paths for exploring. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome at £35 each per week/short break. Please make sure they stay out of bedrooms and off the furniture and that you rub down muddy/sandy feet before they come in.
  • PET ALLERGIES: This is a dog friendly property in a rural location and unlikely to be suitable if you suffer pet allergies.

USEFUL TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING

Always read the descriptions and more information fully before booking to make sure the property is a right fit for you. We are here to help and can answer most questions as we know the Barn well.

  • You are slightly off the beaten track down a track. Perfect for nature and beach lovers looking for a rural escape. If you are in a low slung sports car that's your pride and joy you may find the bumpy track and windy Cornish lanes and hedgerows a challenge.
  • Its very dog friendly and perfect for your four legged friend. Although surrounded by countryside away from major roads be aware its not fully enclosed so if yours is an escape artist you will need to watch them from wandering too far.
  • The sitting room is in the eaves and has limited head height so you need to be aware and Puffin may not be suitable if you are very tall.

"Beautiful spot and easy to find despite sounding like a challenge to get there. We loved the surroundings and the walk to the beach - and the sheep nearby! Would certainly rent again."

“We couldn’t have chosen a better family holiday spot in Cornwall… Ideally in a quite area away from the holiday crowds but still very close to all Cornwall has to offer… Beautiful beaches - amazing walks - breath taking countryside… Within very easy reach to the most Far West Country touristic spots… The property had everything we could ask for - very Cornish experience… Thank you!”
