TREMBATH COTTAGE, ST JUST

This charming traditional cottage sits in the middle of an attractive terrace in the heart of this pretty little town only one mile from the stunning Cape Cornwall and moments from the local cafes, pubs and galleries. Perfect for couples and families.

Trembath Cottage is a homely three-bedroom cottage sleeping four and is full of character and charm and boasts comfortable, relaxed accommodation. It’s the ideal base for exploring the far west of Cornwall and beyond, with rambling walks and quirky shops, artisan cafes and plenty of art galleries close by. If you’re bringing your four-legged friend they will be in heaven and the enclosed courtyard is perfect for enjoying a barbeque on a sunny evening when it’s just too good to be inside.

Trembath Cottage was built around 1850, at a time when the copper and tin mining industries were booming. St Just, in particular, became a thriving community and new houses were needed to accommodate the huge influx of people searching for employment. The cottage was owned by the Trembath family from 1952 until 2014, when renovations were carried out. The new owners named the house in honour of the Trembath family and the history of the property.

Couples, families and friends will love this adorable cottage within easy reach of fantastic beaches and landmark attractions. Venture four miles to Sennen Cove or Pendeen Lighthouse and the Minack Theatre are also within close distance. Penzance is a 15-minute drive away with the open-air Jubilee Pool and historic Chapel Street.

LOCATION

The whole town of St Just is a UNESCO world heritage site and surrounded by wild moors and dramatic coastline. If feeling energetic try exploring the stunning Tinner’s Way running along the coast from Cape Cornwall all the way to St Ives. It’s an ancient route from the Bronze Age and where the tin and copper ore were transported along the way from St Just to Hayle

St Just is a friendly town that feels lost in time with an array of great local shops, a deli, a butcher, four pubs and a small local supermarket for your everyday needs. Surrounding the town are the most spectacular stretches of coastline and fantastic walks from the doorstep. Sennen with its glorious surfing beach is ten minutes away as is Portheras, a hidden and stunning local’s cove. Travelling further east within twenty minutes you can be in Marazion with its fabulous beach overlooking the famous St Michaels Mount, St Ives, Mousehole and Penzance.

WHAT GUESTS ARE SAYING...

“Our first holiday as a family of 4. Absolutely wonderful. Will definitely be staying again.”

Louise – March 2024

“Comfortable, clean, well equipped and maintained. Great location in centre of St Just. Looks just like the pics! The Cornish Way were easy to communicate with & very responsive. A great stay.”

Frances – February 2024

“We had a wonderful Christmas week in Trembath Cottage. St Just is a sweet little town with plenty to do, even over the bank holidays - the Christmas tree festival was fun, and the Dog and Rabbit cafe had a great eve of Christmas Eve band session. The Cottage is very comfortable and was perfect for the four of us, a toddler and 2 terriers. Everything has been thought of - very comfortable beds, bedside lights, a nice bathroom, an unusually well-stocked kitchen (including a mince pie baking tray, rolling pin!), sofa "throws" for the dogs, logs for the log burner, a cupboard full of really useful things (a mug of pens, notepaper, board games, a little sewing kit, Sellotape etc). There is also an excellent utility room for laundry. A lovely welcome gesture was a beautiful driftwood Christmas tree set with little lights. Thank you to Seb and Lowenna and all at the Cornish Way for being so attentive. Thank you too to their housekeeper. You all ensured we had a perfect stay at Trembath!”

Karen – December 2023

“The cottage was presented extremely well - very clean, tidy, well thought out and equipped with everything needed. We managed to park outside the cottage every day. St Just proved to be a great base from which to explore the wonderful coast of West Cornwall and we had some lovely walks along the S.West Coast path with the dogs. Being able to bring our dogs with us without compromising the accommodation choice was a real bonus. The provision of lots of guide books and recommendations proved really helpful. Many thanks!”

Simon – October 2023

“We had a wonderful week away in St Just. Exactly what we were looking for. Combination of excellent walks from the cottage, and enough going on in St Just to have a pint and something to eat. The cottage itself was lovely and very comfortable for us. No complaints at all. We would highly recommend both the cottage and the area, to friends, without hesitation. Keep up the good work!”
