TO THE LIGHTHOUSE, ST IVES

With stunning views of the sea and St Ives and moments from the award-winning Porthminster Beach, To The Lighthouse is a special place to stay. Located in a sought-after terrace set above one of Cornwall’s most charming towns, it's a delightful apartment with elegant styling and large windows, thoughtfully furnished with your comfort in mind to create an oasis of calm from the hubbub of this beautiful, bustling harbour town. The white sands of Porthminster Beach are a short stroll away; an idyllic beach and spot to wander down to and enjoy the sun rising with your morning cuppa. With St Ives within walking distance and so much to explore in west Cornwall it makes a great place to retreat back to.

It is said that Virginia Woolf spent the early summers of her life in St Ives gazing out at the view of the golden sands and deep blues of St Ives and beyond all the way to Godrevy Lighthouse. Inspired by what she saw, it’s referenced in many of her later works and most famously in her novel ‘To The Lighthouse’.

Entering into the first floor apartment you are met with light and space. There are two bedrooms and two bath/shower rooms and the second bedroom can be made up as a king or twin, making it a great place for two couples or a family of four. The balcony off the living room is the best spot for an evening sundowner or morning coffee. At any time of the day, you cannot beat the views.  The living room has two comfortable sofas and a dining table and chairs for four.

With so many beaches to choose from you are spoilt for choice here and can find a sheltered spot all year round. Great for bathing and surfing there is so much for everyone and ideal for leaving the car behind with the railway nearby and bus routes linking you to destinations in the west.

LOCATION

St Ives is a town that never tires of things to do and its maze of higgledy-piggledy cobbled streets are filled with some of the best restaurants, cafes, shops and galleries Cornwall has to offer. For any art enthusiast, they’ll be well aware of the legacy that St Ives has made on the art world, with its numerous art galleries including the famous Tate St Ives, Barbara Hepworth Museum and Bernard Leach Pottery. It’s increasingly become a popular destination to travel to and it’s not hard to see why people fall in love with it and come back year after year.

A quaint town surrounded by beaches with sand so golden and sea so blue it could be mistaken for the Caribbean. The beaches have become a favourite for many of the local surfers and the surf schools at Porthmeor offer the opportunity for you to try it out for yourself. Or heading to the harbour you can hop on a boat and take a trip out to see the seals. A town where you will want for nothing and everything is so close.

Porthminster Beach is an award-winning beach and boasts a fabulous restaurant just minutes away. The coastal footpath will lead you from here into St Ives. Carbis Bay is found in the other direction and beyond this Porthkidney Sands at Lelant, which is dog friendly all year round.

LIVING

Set across the first floor, the spacious living room really is the hub of this home with amazing views from the three large windows. It's open-planned and flooded with natural light with two comfy sofas and dining area with a table for four. At the end of a day spent exploring, sink into the lovely squishy sofas and switch on the TV and relax in front of a film, or just simply watch the world go by gazing out to sea.

COOKING & EATING
