"We had a fabulous stay at Poets Corner. It was very clean and had all we needed for an enjoyable stay. The owners were delightful and warm. We thought the little touches were lovely , 3 dog biscuits , a box of Cornish biscuits for us humans along with basics such as coffee , salt and pepper . We would certainly book again !"

This gorgeous detached barn conversion is set in the heart of Poldark country surrounded by breathtaking coastline, wild moors and villages that feel lost in time. This is a land of raw beauty. Unpretentious, it still feels like authentic Cornwall and is a place to drop your shoulders and escape. Poets Corner is a perfect couple’s retreat whether coming to walk, surf or just unwind and leave the hectic world behind.

Set in a small courtyard of converted farm buildings with a private parking space right outside it has been beautifully finished offering lots of light and space for two but managing to feel cosy at the same time with a lovely little wood burner to curl up in front of. The French doors in the sitting room open out onto a super decked terrace and private garden which in turn looks over open farmland giving a great sense of privacy. The large bedroom has a Juliet balcony with views across countryside to the sea and St Just in the distance. There is a luxurious modern ensuite shower room and with a comfy king-sized bed you’re sure to get a good night’s rest after days out exploring this magical area.

Truthwall is a small hamlet set less than a mile from St Just off the stunning coastal road which leads to St Ives. A short walk away and you can be on the South West Coast path and in the other direction the wild moors of Carnyorth Common are just behind Poets Corner. If feeling energetic try exploring the stunning Tinner’s way running along the coast from Cape Cornwall all the way to St Ives. It’s an ancient route from the Bronze age and where the tin and copper ore were transported along the way from St Just to Hayle. After a day’s activities enjoy a drink and let someone else do the cooking. Less than five minutes’ walk away is a great locals pub, The Queens Arms.

St Just, less than a mile away is your nearest town which is in walking distance or a few minutes’ drive away. It’s is a friendly, quirky place that feels like stepping back in time with a good selection of local shops, a deli, a butcher, four pubs and a small supermarket for your everyday needs.

The far west is on the edge, things are different here. We're surrounded on three sides by the sea, and it has a strong influence on our lives. For beaches we are spoilt and Sennen Cove with its glorious surfing beach is only ten minutes away as is Portheras, a hidden, and stunning locals cove past Pendeen travelling east.

Travelling around the far west, the impossibly quaint village of Mousehole and working harbour of Newlyn are 15 minutes’ drive away. Marazion with the iconic St Michaels Mount, St Ives, Penzance and Porthcurno with the famous Minack theatre built into the cliffs are all well worth visiting and also an easy drive away.

The large main Living Space has a French doors out into the garden and steps down to the separate kitchen. There’s a large comfy two-seater sofa and armchair, a dining table with four chairs and a flat screen TV. The wood burner heats up a treat and in season we will leave you enough logs to get you going for a night or two.

It’s a lovely little Kitchen, well equipped and modern with an electric oven and hob, a microwave, under counter fridge and a washing machine.

The Bedroom on the first floor is accessed from the sitting room via an open staircase. It has a kingsize double bed, large chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and a writing table and chair. The hanging space is open on hooks and French doors to the Juliet balcony open to give lovely vistas across countryside to the sea.

The luxurious Shower room is ensuite to the bedroom and has a large shower enclosure, WC, basin.

The decked patio area is accessed from the sitting room and has a rattan table and two chairs and a small BBQ. Beyond this is a large enclosed and lawned garden area with a further gated fence leading back around to the farm courtyard and parking.
