THE CORNISH WAY - CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
To all our valued customers
We hope you and family are well in these difficult times and we are sending you our thoughts from Cornwall.
This is an extremely challenging for everyone in the country and all of us have been affected in varying degrees. Locally it is very upsetting to see the devastating effect this is already having on Cornwall which relies so heavily on tourism, so please keep this in mind until we are able to come back and offer options for rescheduling your holiday.
We are currently inundated with enquiries, and are a very small team so are only responding to emails on a date priority basis. We will reply to everyone individually but current volumes mean we are only to deal with the enquiries regarding immediate holidays that are due to arrive during May and June.
If you contact us please bear with us and we will get back to you as soon as we can and will be posting updates in line with government advice.
We have answered below some of the most common questions currently being asked.
I have a booking with you due to arrive prior to July 4th, what do I do?
We are getting directly in touch with guests with existing bookings to rearrange holidays. This can be to either to a later available date or we can postpone the holiday until a suitable date is known. Up to the 4th July in line with current government guidelines travel to second homes or on holiday is not permitted. Please cancel arrangements and do check with your insurer regarding potentially claiming losses. If due to travel in this period we will be in touch regarding moving your holiday to an alternative date.
Where you are already booked for a holiday due to start during this period and receive a balance reminder there will be more information on the reminder, and we will be communicating with you individually in due course.
I have a booking commencing from July 4th onward. What shall I do?
We are aware of the uncertainty and as it's such an ever-changing situation we are responding to holidays on a date priority basis. Therefore, we ask you to please bear with us and should a travel ban continue we will communicate any options closer to the time of your holiday.
Where you are already booked for a holiday due to start in July and beyond we have reduced the time to pay the balance to 4 weeks ahead of the holiday. If you receive a balance reminder there will be more information on the reminder, and we will be communicating with you individually in due course.
If I have insurance will I be covered still if I move my holiday dates or wish to cancel?
Any agreement regarding cancelling beyond our terms is not ours to make, it is the owners and we are simply agents. We are working closely with all our clients to offer some flexibility and compromise and will do everything we can to assist you. Most guests have the recommended insurance, and the majority of policies include moving dates and cancellation but you need to check with your insurer to confirm what you're covered for. We will help of course in any way we can in providing necessary information. Again, we know there will be questions and we want to answer these individually but please bear with us.
