At Manor Farm you'll have all the space and comfort you need. The grand old farmhouse is at the heart of the tiny hamlet of Escalls from where it's just a short walk to the beautiful Gwenver Beach, and only a bit further to Sennen. It's even closer to the magical cliffs. You'll have a small garden with seating and table, a courtyard, barbecue, and above all, a calming laid back holiday home.

This is a big laid back house that's so easy to live in. Our family were all together, yet we each had our own space. I could be happy here for a very long time.

Manor Farm

A great escape for couples and larger families too, Manor Farm is all about kicking back and taking life easy.

This generous farmhouse is moments from some of the most stunning scenery of the far west. It's a few minutes walk to the dog friendly surf beach at Gwenver, or a slightly longer walk/short drive to popular Sennen Cove (see notes on our beaches page).

Relax, check out the interesting art, read, or just sit back and dream. Manor Farm is the ideal location.

The owners acquired the house early in 2017 and will transform it into a superb property over the coming year. This summer it is available for just a few lucky guests who can enjoy the house before a major refurbishment in the winter. It won't yet be pristine, but it will be a fantastic holiday home.

Location. Escalls is ideally located between Sennen Cove and Gwenver beaches.

Swim, surf, walk the coast, or simply find a sheltered spot to sit and contemplate the beauty - you'll be spoilt for choice here.

You're only a few miles from Lands End, and it's certainly worth walking there to see the dramatic cliffs and remains of ancient civilisations.

The famous pubs The Old Success and The First and Last are both less than half an hour's walk (or a couple of minutes in the car), as are the cafes in the cove and Ben Tunnicliffe's beach restaurant.

Many of our guests have been coming back to the immediate area for decades, and as we never tire of it we can understand why.

Living. You'll often hear the term "farmhouse kitchen" - here it's for real. There's a great farm table that seats up to 8, a love seat sofa, and a range cooker with modern induction hob. There's even a wood burning stove. It's the true hub of the home.

Through a door to the spacious lounge where you'll want to kick back and relax in a way that rarely happens at home. There's another wood burning stove, sofas and easy chairs, and there are doors to both garden and courtyard. There's a desk for study, or researching the next days adventures. And even more impressive than the high ceilings is the original Cornish granite flagged floor.

Sleeping. At The Cornish Way we're out in the fresh air as often as we can be, and perhaps that's why we so love a great sleep. All the wonderful beds and linens at Manor Farm were new in 2017 and were chosen to offer a great sleep.

The master bedroom has a king sized bed (and an en-suite with roll top bath!). The two large bedrooms both have zip and link beds that transform from twin beds into superkings for the ultimate couples' luxurious sleeping space.

Every bedroom has an engaging view, one over the countryside, and the other two over countryside and Rotho stripes of fields, ocean and skies.

Bathing. The master bedroom has an en suite with roll top bath, and a picture window with views across the countryside.

The family bathroom is untouched from the owners' recent purchase. The cast iron roll top bath has a shower over with curtains. We may not love shower curtains, but you certainly get a great drench from this one. The suite with high level flush, bidet (cold only) and sink are old but sturdy, and the towel rail is an ingenious contraption of copper pipes. See photos to get the picture.

Outside. The farm courtyard offers plenty of space for play, and there's a small lawn with deck and outside seating.

Parking. There's plenty of parking in the courtyard, or outside of the garage for two or more cars.
