"The Old Dairy, Gwenver"

A charming traditional Cornish granite cottage, with original wood panelled walls upstairs and a great wood burner in the living room. The Old Dairy feels solid, homely and welcoming. Pull back the bedroom curtains, gaze out over the fields towards the sea, and plan the days activities from this characterful Cornish cottage.

The cottage is honest, loving, and loved. So many of its guests return year after year for relaxation as well as adventures on the coast and in the sea.

Downstairs there's a generous living room with the all important wood burner to take the chill from a cooler evening and make a winter stay a joy.

cooking & eating

The kitchen dining room is in the newer part of the cottage and offers all you need to cook great dinners the family will enjoy. Mark, the owner, often cooks a casserole on the wood burning stove.

The three bedrooms are upstairs. The master bedroom with a king size bed and sea views out towards the Scilly Isles while the second king and twin bedrooms look over the countryside.

The family bathroom has a shower over the bath.

The Old Dairy has a small patio with a barbecue that's perfect for afternoon and evening al fresco dining and sundowners.

useful to know...

PARKING: There's room for a car, two if you're careful, outside of the cottage.

WI-FI: There is free unlimited Wi-Fi at the property.

HEATING: The cottage has a mix of night store and electric panel heaters, plus of course the wood burner that warms the whole place.

PETS: Far West Cornwall is doggie heaven! There’s plenty of beaches and coast paths for exploring. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome at £35 each per week/short break. Please make sure they stay out of bedrooms and off the furniture and that you rub down muddy/sandy feet before they come in.

LINEN & TOWELS: You'll have bedding & towels but please bring your own beach towels.

ACCESSIBILITY: The road leading to the barn is quite rutted. You will need to drive very slowly and would not be suitable for low slung vehicles. The internal stairs, as in all old cottages, are steep so it may not be suited to those with limited mobility so do call us first to make sure it’s suitable for you.

CHANGEOVER DAY: The Old Dairy usually changes on a Friday. Do check with us if your dates don't quite fit as we will always try to help.

what guests are saying...

"We absolutely loved our stay in this cute cozy cottage, our days were spent walking our 2 dogs along the many breathtaking beautiful coastal paths and our evenings in front of the fire. The cottage boasts all the modern amenities and well equipped for all our needs. This place really felt like a home from home we will definitely be staying again"

Stewart R. - December 2018

"Fabulous spacious cottage set in beautiful scenery. The cottage was clean, homely and well equipped. Gwynver beach is a short, but steep walk from the cottage. you’re rewarded with a stunning view, fewer people and great waves. The local area has lots to offer too, a walk to Lands End, Minnack Theatre, St Michaels Mount, Sculpture Garden and the pretty village of Mousehole to name but a few. We shall definitely return."
