LILLIE'S LOOKOUT, ST JUST

Lillie's Lookout was built for the owners' granddaughter to come from Australia and live in for a year. You'll love the full kitchen and small bathroom. Despite being only 30 meters square there's plenty of living space for two and you'll have an outside area with seating and barbecue.

Lillie's offers simple comfortable accommodation. When I first walked in I was immediately excited and wanted to stay.

Apart from looking great, its biggest draw is the location. No Go By is too small to be called a hamlet; just outside of Botallack. It's off the beaten track, yet you can walk to the cliffs in minutes. The centre of bustling little St Just with its pubs and cafes is a ten-minute walk, and the Queen's Arms in Botallack is even closer. The wild moors of Carnyorth Common are just behind the cabin.

LIVING

One room living is surprisingly sociable and compelling. You can chat while you cook, share plans and stories while one of you lounges in the bath, or both crash out on the sofa.

The full-sized kitchen is well equipped, there's plenty of dining space at the table, or the breakfast bar, and the sofa is big enough to sit apart on, or snuggle up.

SLEEPING

The bed deck has a full king-sized bed, and a great mattress that you'll love after a day in the fresh air of the far west.

BATHING

The small but ample bath is a comfortable place to soak away and the shower over the bath with constant hot water is perfect after a day on the beach or walking the cliffs.

OUTSIDE

Lillie's Lookout has been built in the corner of the owner's vast garden, they've even fenced it off so that you have your own private garden to sit out in, barbecue, or to just enjoy the far-reaching views. As I sit here in the garden writing today, I can see the Scilly Isles 30 miles away and Poldark's Wheal Leisure (actually Wheal Owles) down the road. And even better - no one can see me!

WHAT GUESTS ARE SAYING...

“We really enjoyed our stay at Lillie’s Lookout despite the weather. We were impressed by the quality and style of everything provided. the location and views are fab with easy access to bus services, coast path and moorland walks but still very peaceful. Would definitely like to return to Lillie's Lookout. This is the second time we have booked through the Cornish way and will do so again. Very easy and straightforward. Would recommend."

“We had a really lovely stay at Lillie’s lookout for 3 nights in March. Check in was easy and Di was a lovely host. The setting was picturesque and felt very private being quite separate from the main house and not overlooked at all. We had a great time exploring the local area and the guide book provided was really useful.”

“Perfect little place for a peaceful and relaxing stay”

James – November 2023

“I loved staying at Lillie's Lookout. Perfect little cabin set in the owner's grounds but still felt private. Nice views across fields and to the sea with a small table and chairs outside to enjoy the peace and quiet. The kitchen has a decent size fridge, it's generally well equipped and has a good cooker, important if you're self-catering. The bed is very comfortable. The cabin is set in a great location for access to amazing beaches and coastline, and St Ives easily accessible, too. Overall, it's a great place to stay and John and Diane were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.”

Val – October 2023

“Lillie's Lookout is perfect if you enjoy the simple things in life. It is a beautiful log cabin with amazing views at the far end of Cornwall. The owners are helpful and friendly but also happy to leave you in peace. The wifi signal is surprisingly good. The bustling town of St Just is a few minutes drive away and has all you need. The nearest pub, The Queens Arms is a 10 minute walk away - it does great food, keeps it beer well and has a lovely garden. So if you like peace and quiet, walking the coastal path, eating good food and enjoying a pint or two - this place is perfect.”
