Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few questions we’re asked on a regular basis when people are booking one of our luxury holiday cottages. If there’s anything you’d like to know, whether it’s covered here and you’d like more detail, or something entirely different, just drop us an email at kelvin@thecornishway.co.uk or give Kelvin a call on 07834 090 818.

Changeover day

Currently all of The Cornish Way’s properties changeover on a Friday. We lived away from Cornwall for many years and experience has taught us that travelling to the far west is far easier on a Friday than a Saturday.

Wi-fi

Most properties have wi-fi, check out the specifics on each cottage or ask us.

Mobile signal

None of the properties are in urban centres, but mobile coverage is good on most networks.

What do you need to bring?

All bedding and towels are included. Please bring your beach towels.

What is included in the price?

Prices are based on a full week’s stay, Friday to Friday. Power, heating and linens are included. There are no additional taxes.

Is there a security deposit?

All new guests are charged a £250 security deposit. This is returned shortly after your stay providing the cleaner confirms the house has been looked after and left in good order. If additional cleaning is required the cost will be deducted at £20 per hour from the security deposit.

Can we bring our pets?

Pets are welcome at most of our cottages at £25 each per stay. While dogs are the most common pets we have also welcomed a parrot, several cats and a house rabbit!

Can we have our pet looked after?

Just ask, for a small charge we can often offer dog sitting and walking, or just dropping in to visit a pet while you make a day trip to somewhere further afield like The Scilly Isles or The Eden Project.

Can we arrive late?

You can arrive at any time after 4.00pm, we’ll make arrangements with you if you’d like to arrive late in the evening.

Can we book several cottages for a family get together?

At Tregiffian we often host family groups in two or more cottages there. You’ll need to plan in advance as the cottages do book early. However we will not entertain parties such as stag and hen parties and will cancel a booking if we believe this is the purpose. This is to respect both our wonderful properties and our neighbours.

Is there a cottage suitable for the elderly and less mobile?

New Forge is popular with guests bringing an elderly relative. There’s a bedroom on the ground floor as well as the family bathroom with walk in shower.

Can we get our shopping delivered?

Both Tesco and Sainsburys deliver to all cottages at The Cornish Way. We can arrange to receive your delivery and fill the cupboards ahead of your arrival.

Can you help with baby requirements?

We can get a high chair to all cottages, and a cot in several. We also recommend a local business that hires equipment.

Where do you advertise?

Over time we have built up a loyal and very happy following, and a lot of our business is either repeat bookings or through recommendations. We do, however advertise on external sites, including www.homeaway.co.uk and www.coolstays.com

Your photographs are lovely. Who do you use?

Most of the images on the site, particularly of the cottages and in the gallery have been taken by us and our very talented photographer friends. A regular guest and wedding photographer http://julianmarment.com/ always shares his gorgeous shots with us, and http://francesgard.com/ has taken some amazing shots of the cottages while she has been our guest.
